Michael Anthony Knudson, age 28, of Mayer, formerly of Silver Lake, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born June 29, 1982, in Winsted, the son of Bill and Cheri (Fiecke) Knudson.
Mike was a self-employed machinist and mechanic who was good with his hands and could fix anything. A fun-loving, outgoing person, Mike liked to take risks and was a “people person” who enjoyed being the center of attention.
He loved animals of all kinds, attending car shows, hunting, fishing, and snowmobile/motocross/4-wheeler fun. Mike loved his family tremendously, and was a protective older brother for his younger siblings.
Mike is survived by his parents, Bill and Cheri (Fiecke) Knudson; his siblings, Tara Knudson and Travis Knudson; maternal grandparents Alexander and Barbara (Karels) Fiecke; paternal grandparents Ronald and Lorraine (Hauer) Neisen; and many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Fr. Tony Stubeda was the celebrant and Fr. Patrick Okonkwo was the concelebrant. Burial was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake.
Visitation was Thursday, March 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.; and continued Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Travis Knudson, Nathan Entinger, Isaiah Schroeder, Adam Groff, Bob Damlow, Cory Carr, and Scott Herbert.
The Maresh Funeral Home of Silver Lake served the family.
