Mary A. (Babatz) Kuchenmeister, age 88, of Buffalo, formerly of Waverly and Montrose, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at her home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Wright County, the daughter of Frank and Sophia (Stiller) Babatz.
Mary was joined in holy marriage to Francis H. Kuchenmeister Feb. 24, 1943, in Delano.
Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafting, gardening and shopping.
Mary is survived by her children: JoAnne (Joe) Czanstkowski of Delano, Rita Glauner of Albertville, Sandra (Mike) Hoffman of Monticello, Darlene Ulven of Missouri, Dale (Eileen) Kuchenmeister of St. Michael, Gary (Denise) Kuchenmeister of Buffalo, Suzanne (Joseph) Otten of Monticello, Deborah Berry of Buffalo, and Kim Kuchenmeister of Buffalo; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis H. Kuchenmeister in 1995; parents, Frank and Sophia (Stiller) Babatz; and nine siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly with Fr. Timothy Cloutier as the celebrant. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Waverly.
Visitation was Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Casket bearers were Bruce Kuchenmeister, James Czanstkowksi, Joseph Otten, Jason Otten, John Otten, and Dan Anfinson.
Arrangements were by the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
