Fidelia M. Lahr, age 83, of Cold Spring, formerly of Eden Valley, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at the John Paul Apartments in Cold Spring.
She was born Feb. 8, 1928, in New Germany, to Lawrence and Anna (Quast) Sterner.
Fidelia married Donald M. Lahr June 17, 1950, in Winsted. They lived and farmed near Eden Valley, and moved into Eden Valley after retirement in 1998.
Fidelia was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Assumption Christian Women Society, Mother Theresa Mission Group, and Eden Valley Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed quilting, cards, Twins games, fishing, bingo, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, Lawrence (Lois) of Onamia, Kenneth (Linda) of St. Stephen, Paul (Teresa) of Dassel, Ann (David) Valley of Albertville, Margaret (Carl) Dawn of West St. Paul, Peter (Theresa) of Albuquerque, NM, and Dennis (Trish) of Big Lake; daughter-in-law Cindy Lahr of Willmar; brothers and sisters, Monica Engel of West St. Paul, Albin Sterner of Naples, FL, Donald Sterner of Eau Claire, WI, and Clarina Conger of Naples, FL; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Fidelia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald July 21, 2006; son, Tom Dec. 2, 2001; an infant daughter; and a brother, Wilbert Sterner.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley, with the Rev. Virgil Braun officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, July 22 from 4 to 8 p.m., with prayers by Eden Valley Senior Citizens at 4:30 p.m., followed by Assumption Christian Women at 6 p.m., and parish prayers at 7 p.m.; and continued at 9 a.m. Saturday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley.
