Robert A. Litke, age 85, of Delano, formerly of Woodbury, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at the Delano GoldenLiving Center, with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 27, 1925, to Alfred and Hilda (Kronsbein) Litke in New Britain, CT.
Bob’s family moved to Gloversville, NY, where he lived until graduating high school.
Bob attended the US Naval Academy, class of 1948A; and Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Upon graduation, he entered the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps (Seabees) and served until 1969, retiring with the rank of commander.
He went to work with the Minnesota State University system as director of facilities, and later at St. Thomas College as their director of facilities.
Bob is survived by his sons, Paul (Marcia) Litke, and Bob Litke; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services took place Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano, with a gathering of family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Chaplain Bob Haskin officiated at the services.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
