Dorothy Grace Miller, age 93, of Belle Plaine, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at her home.
She was born March 31, 1918, in Worthington, to Franklin and Grace (Tripp) Heitkamp.
Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Plaine for over 60 years. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and was employed at the Women’s Correctional Prison for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johan; daughter Carol Buesgens; a grandchild, Scott Buesgens; parents Frank and Grace Heitkamp; and siblings Kathryn Carstensen, Lois Garrison, Ruth Jeddeloh, JoAnn Linde and Louis Heitkamp.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Lynette (Erv) Heitkamp, Johan (Pat) Miller, and Joan (Maynard) Schultz; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law Bill Buesgens; and siblings Adele Olson, Douglas (Blanche) Heitkamp, Jack (Joyce) Heitkamp, and Beth Wentland.
Funeral services took place Monday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Plaine, with visitation at the church for two hours prior to the services. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
