Joseph was born in Chicago, IL Dec. 31, 1961. He grew up near North Park University in Chicago, and was known around campus as “the neighborhood kid.”
Joseph’s parents died within a year of each other when Joseph was 10 years old. He spent some time in foster homes, then came to Cokato for a visit with the Jim Lundeen family. On this visit, he met Waldo and Janet Moberg. The Mobergs took him into their home and eventually adopted Joseph as their own.
Joseph married Sindey Koch, and the couple lived in Hector. To this union, two children were born, Dustin Wade, who died at six months; and JoRae.
Joseph and Sindey were later divorced, and Joseph moved to San Diego, CA, where he has lived ever since.
Joseph is survived by his mother, Janet Moberg of Cokato; sister Connie Moberg; daughter JoRae (John) Stockdale; and his grandson, Grayson.
In addition to his birth parents and son, he was preceded in death by his father, C. Waldo Moberg.
