Harvey A. Mueller, age 91, of Watertown, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
He was born May 15, 1919, in Watertown, the son of Arthur H. and Emma H. (Lemmermann) Mueller. Harvey was baptized June 1, 1919, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Township by the Rev. Paul Beck, and confirmed April 9, 1933, at the same church by the Rev. Karl Rudolph.
Harvey was united in marriage to Bernice A. Westlund June 26, 1943, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown by the Rev. Arthur Anderson.
Harvey was, most of all, a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He had a strong faith throughout his life.
A charter member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, he held many church offices, sang in the church choir for over 50 years, and also sang in the “Mueller Quartet.”
Harvey had a love of horses, raising award-winning Arabians. He also had a soft spot for dogs. Some of Harvey’s enjoyments also included, hunting, fishing, and wood working, and he loved to dance.
Harvey was preceded in death by his grandsons, Travis Mueller, Kelly Mueller and Jeremiah Mueller; father and mother Arthur and Emma Mueller; sisters Verna Simon and Dorothy Tomek; brothers Erwin Mueller and Willard “Bill” Mueller; brothers-in-law James Tomek, and Lester Simon; and sister-in-law Ruthy Johnson.
He is survived by his loving family; wife Bernice; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Millie Mueller of Watertown; daughter and son-in-law Diane and Steve Baardson of Andover; grandchildren Heather and Bill Johnson, Tina and Andy Williams, Josh Mueller, and Jenny and Brett Richter; and great-grandchildren Kaitlin Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Evelyn Williams, Mya Richter, Aiden Richter, Quinn Williams, Haven Williams, and Noah Williams.
Harvey is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Merle and Millie Mueller of Richmond, and Mick and Pat Mueller of Mound; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Dorraine Mueller of Watertown, Gertrude Mueller of Arizona, Walter and Grace Westlund of Waconia, and Hjelton Johnson of Golden Valley; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Paul Krentz officiating.Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown.
Visitation was Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.; and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the service, all at the church.
Casket bearers were Harvey’s grandchildren.
