Clairy “Gene” Ocker, age 81, of Motley, passed away at his home Thursday, July 7, 2011.
He was born April 8, 1930, to Floyd and Florence (Griffith) Ocker in Casselton, ND.
He married Ardess Czech June 27, 1953, in Delano.
Gene was a veteran of the US Air Force.
He worked at Carter-Day Construction in Fridley as a crane operator.
In 1979, Gene moved to the Motley area from Wyoming, MN.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking projects.
Gene is survived by his wife, Ardess; two sons, Dale Ocker, of Ham Lake, and David Ocker, of Apache Junction, AZ; two brothers, Manley (Clarene) Nichols, and Roger Nichols; one sister, Opal Oldenburg; two grandchildren, Daniel Ocker and Kristin (Craig) Pike; and three great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Ocker, Corrin Pike and Gracia Pike.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Nichols.
A memorial service took place Saturday, July 16, at 1 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples, with visitation one hour before the service.
