Lorraine (Quast) Peterson, age 75, of Waverly, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 in Chaska.
She was born June 5, 1935, to Ida (Erdman) and Andrew Quast. Lorraine attended Holy Trinity Elementary School, and graduated from Howard Lake High School.
Lorraine married Gaylen Cochran Oct. 3, 1953. Five children were born to this marriage; Steven, Kris, Daniel, Kathy and Larry. Gaylen was killed in a car accident Dec. 16, 1965.
Lorraine then married DeWayne “Pete” Peterson June 14, 1968. She moved with the children to the Oster area. Pete passed away Nov. 25, 1995, of heart trouble.
Lorraine was proud of the fact that she worked with St. Mary’s Care Center for 31 years.
She is survived by her children: Steve (Robin) Cochran, Kris (Jim) Caldwell, Dan (Laurie) Cochran, Kathy (Scott) Ronnei, and Larry Cochran; six grandchildren: Shawna (Tana) Starkey, Nicole (Ryan) Holthusen, Paul (Kristi) Cochran, Tracy (Dustin) Koep, Amy Ronnei and Ben Ronnei; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marilyn Helmbrecht and Joyce Jagodzinski; sister-in-law Helen Peterson; brother-in-law Ronald (Arlene) Cochran; sister-in-law Karen (Rob) Duraine; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; and by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Cochran.
A memorial service took place Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with visitation preceding the service, beginning at 11 a.m. Interment was at the Winsted Public Cemetery.
