Carol J. Polzin, age 73, of Norwood Young America, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
She was born Dec. 28, 1937, in Bongards, MN, the daughter of George and Emma (Bongard) Winkler.
Carol was united in marriage to Dennis D. Polzin Sept. 1, 1956, at St. John’s UCC in Bongards by the Rev. P.H. Franzmeier.
Carol liked to cook, play cards, and tend to her flowers. She enjoyed socializing and would travel on bus trips whenever she had the chance. Carol was also a Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Emma Winkler; sisters Priscilla Herrmann, and Darlene Braunworth; and brothers Russell Winkler, Roy Winkler, and Clifford Winkler.
Carol is survived by her loving family; husband, Dennis Polzin of Norwood Young America; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark Polzin of Norwood Young America, and Rick and Diane Polzin of Findlay, OH; granddaughters Abby Polzin and Nicole Polzin; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Friday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Rev. Richard Mark officiated, and interment was in the St. John’s UCC Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Lee Winkler, Kurt Winkler, Troy Winkler, Jim Herrmann, Jon Herrmann, Lynn Braunworth, Sherry Braunworth, and Judi Braunworth.
