Ione L. Raether, 85

Ione L. Raether, age 85, of Waconia, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Elim Home in Watertown.

She was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Watertown, the daughter of Fred F. and Anna L. (Kessler) Rudloff.

Ione was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Raether Nov. 26, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. Robert Heyne.

Ione enjoyed the outdoors with her husband, Kenneth, especially many grouse hunting trips for over 60 years. She took many vacations throughout the years with her family and friends.

Ione had a special gift of remembering the names of the special people she came in contact with through all the years she worked at Savaryn Clinic and Waconia Cleaners.

Some of her hobbies included bowling and going to lunch with “the girls.”

She was a member of the Ruth Guild at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.

Ione is survived by her loving family; husband Kenneth; son and daughter-in-law Keane and Dianne Raether of St. Bonifacius; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Mark Laumann of Waconia; grandchildren Kristopher and Kelly Jo Raether of Cologne, Kevin and Jeni Raether of Woodbury; great-grandchildren Taylor Raether and Kallie Raether; brother and sisters-in-law Fred and Lorraine Rudloff of Waconia, and Darlene Ortlip of Durant, OK; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by father and mother, Fred and Anna Rudloff; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Hilma Raether; and brother-in-law Earl Ortlip.

The funeral service took place Wednesday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Rev. Phil Wagner officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Waconia.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and continued Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers were Kristopher Raether, Kevin Raether, Neal Burandt, Jeff Rudloff, and Frank Sisser.
