Harry D. Schlueter Sr., age 75, of Watertown, died Tuesday May 10, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.
He was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Hamburg, Germany, the son of Heinrich and Henni (Jante) Schlueter.
Harry was united in marriage to Sandra Gatz Sept. 20, 1987, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayzata, by Rev. Bode.
A loving husband and father, Harry was a big brother to the policemen’s children when their parents were killed in the line of duty.
Harry treasured his time with Sandy, going camping and stream fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harry is survived by his loving family: wife Sandra; sons and daughters-in-law Harry Schlueter Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, David and Ann Schlueter of Anoka, and Mike Schlueter of Apple Valley; grandchildren Kyle Schlueter, Joshua and Cassie Schlueter, Sidney and Stephanie Schlueter, and Marie and Paul Toschy; great-grandson Skylar; step-daughters Michelle (James) Anderson, and Melissa Gendron; brother and sister-in-law Rolf and Erika Schlueter of Florida; sister Ingeborg Norton of Illinois; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service took place Saturday May 15 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. There was a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service.
