Steven ‘Tiny’ Stieve Obituary – 10/24/2011


Steven Earl “Tiny” Stieve, age 61, of Franklin, formerly of Winsted, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 1, 1950, in Watertown, the son of Earl A. and Doris A. (Kuztke) Stieve.Steven was baptized Oct. 29, 1950, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany, instructed in the Lutheran catechism, and confirmed in the Christian faith at the same church March 22, 1964.

He graduated from Waconia High School in 1968.

Steven owned and operated The Longbranch Saloon in Franklin since 2003.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing (especially ice fishing), mushroom hunting, and his grandchildren.

Steven is survived by his sons, Earl Stieve of Echo, and Jeremy (Jill) Stieve of Norwood Young America; very special friend Debbie Stieve of Winsted; grandchildren Madison, Hannah, Emily, Jacob, and Cami; sisters and brothers Charlotte (Les) Hahn of Mayer, Clyde (Linda) Stieve of Delano, Cindy (Ken) Klein of Watertown, Bonnie (Delmer) Bentz of Lester Prairie, Clark (Joy) Stieve of Waconia, and Brenda (Greg) Bury of New Germany; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl, in 1972; his mother, Doris, in 2005; and by his grandparents.

Visitation took place at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted Friday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 29 from noon to 3:45 p.m.; followed by graveside funeral services at 4 p.m. at the Winsted Public Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Steven’s sons, Earl and Jeremy Stieve; brothers Clyde and Clark Stieve, and friends Ed Fahey, and Rick Hempel.
