Monica E. (Hron) Tesch, age 88, of Watertown, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
She was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Waconia, the daughter of Wenzel and Monica (Lindner) Hron.
Monica was united in marriage to Roland J. Tesch Feb. 3, 1940, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown by Father Rehill.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Monica lived her life for Jesus and the Blessed Mother, praying the rosary on a daily basis. She was a sacristan, and taught Sunday school to many children at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Monica believed in angels watching over us in our daily lives. She truly enjoyed the holiday season and tried to please everyone who was over to celebrate the day.
She loved canning, baking, and cooking for her children as they were growing up; and found pleasure listening to polka and country music, and watching “The Sound of Music.”
One of Monica’s interests was traveling, and she was able to travel to France, Yugoslavia, and Italy during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Tesch; daughter Marlene Tesch; grandsons Jamie Tesch, Tylor and Colton; parents Wenzel and Monica Hron; and brothers and sisters.
Monica is survived by her loving family: children and spouses, Diane Lhotka of Talmoon, Sharon and Jim Traxler of Bloomington, Lyle and Rita Tesch of Clarissa, Monica and Lance Sorenson of Hector, Margaret Amundson and special friend Kevin Graham of Watertown, Michael and Lendra Tesch of Glencoe, Miles Tesch of Chaska, Melissa Diemert and special friend Dick Kotalik of Maple Plain, Jolene Drews of Watertown, Andrea Tesch and special friend Steven Ortloff of New Richmond, WI, Gina and Dave Gutterud of Stillwater, and Philip Tesch of Chaska; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Delpha Erdman of Fridley, Laquita and Waldo Rolf of North Branch, Melva and Jack Carson of Minneapolis, and Stanley Boschee of North Dakota; brothers and sister-in-law James and Laura Hron of Carver, and Donald Hron of Bloomington; special friends Jean Motzko of Watertown, and Carol Jackson of Excelsior; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Frank Wampach as celebrant of the Mass. Interment was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and continued Monday for one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Casket bearers were Troy Tesch, Steven Neuman, Brendan Tesch, Joshua Tesch, Jeremy Tesch, Paul Wagener, and Peter Wagener.
