David C. Thaemert, 53

David C. Thaemert, age 53, of Hamburg, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

He was born July 23, 1957, in Watertown, the son of Ellsworth E. and Lucille M (Quaas) Thaemert. David was baptized Aug. 18, 1957, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany by the Rev. H. Weseloh; and confirmed May 16, 1971, at the same church by Rev. Cordes.

David was united in marriage to Bonita J. Donahue July 14, 1979, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany by the Rev. Roger Hett.

David was the owner of TCW Disposal in Hamburg, and enjoyed driving his roll-off truck. He was a hard worker and a very strong and independent person. David loved to teach, and believed in giving everybody a chance. You would never hear him complain about any of his ailments; he worked hard in life and death.

David loved spending time with his grandchildren. Some of his hobbies included deer hunting, fishing, and going to the cabin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellsworth; grandparents Harvey and Emma Thaemert, Hilda Thaemert, and Hulda and Herman Quaas; and father-in-law Keith Donahue.

David is survived by his loving family; wife Bonnie; children Nicole (Reed) Rogne of Waconia, Dan Thaemert, and Betty Jo Thaemert and fiancé Reynard Becker, all of Montrose; grandchildren Addison and Connor; mother Lucille Thaemert of New Germany; brother Earl (Diane) Thaemert of Norwood Young America; sister Donna (Dave) Stresemann of Westbrook; and brother Bob (Patrice) Thaemert of Fort Myers, FL.

He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Betty Donahue of Mayer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Pam and Jim Menzel of Norwood Young America, Mike and Brenda Donahue of New Germany, Judy and Mark Warner of New Germany, Jean and Mark Luebke of Mayer, Randy and Kathy Schmidt of New Germany, Brenda and Brian Kuntz of Delano, John and Michelle Donahue of Mayer, Theresa Bittner of Mound, and Marilyn and Rick Hatcher of Delano; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. LeRoy LaPlant officiating. Interment was at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation took place Friday, Feb. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.; and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers were Mark Luebke, Keith Ziermann, Brian Kuntz, Doug Thaemert, Charlie Thaemert, and Randy Quaas.
