Gary Lee Williams, age 75, of Prior Lake, formerly of Howard Lake, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at his son’s home in Prior Lake.
He was born March 20, 1935, in Howard Lake, to Frank and Mildred (Brewster) Williams. Gary grew up in Howard Lake and graduated in 1953 from Howard Lake High School.
Gary served for three years in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany in intelligence during the Korean War.
After service he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from the William Mitchell Law School with a jurist doctorate degree.
Gary married Vivian Taylor in 1957.
Gary was a grand master of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Gary is survived by his children, Denise Williams of Edina, Dan (Marcia) Williams of Brooklyn Park, and Christopher (Lisa) Williams of Prior Lake; grandchildren Terry, Leslie, Andrew, Kate, Dustin, Candice, and Betty; former spouse Vivian (Chic) Ogle; brothers Donald (Eleanore) of New Jersey, and William of Chicago; and sister Mae Beth Wannarka of Howard Lake.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Frank and Mildred; and a son, Richard.
The funeral service took place Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Interment was in the Howard Lake Cemetery.
