Richard Windsperger Obituary – 3/19/2011


Richard William Windsperger, age 91, of Watertown, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Elim Home in Watertown.

He was born April 1, 1919, to Andrew and Catherine (Brandner) Windsperger in Crystal, MN.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Merlyn; and nine siblings.

He is survived by his children, Joyce (Luis) Rubio, Nancy Graham, Lee (Mischelle) Windsperger, and Cheryl (Larry) Davis; eight grandchildren: Steve Graham, Scott (Amy) Graham, Justin Graham, Kris (Michelle) Davis, Jodie (Luke) Peterson, Marie Rubio, Andy (Jen) Windsperger and Caitlin Windsperger; 11 great-grandchildren: Kaila, Tyler, Trista, Marisa, Brady, Madelyn, Brevin, Lydia, McKenna, Morgan, and Olivia; and special friend, Marion Boll.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, March 26 at noon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Readers for the Mass were Maria Rubio, Caitlin Windsperger, and Jodie Peterson. Interment was in the church cemetery, and military honors were provided by the Watertown American Legion Earley Post 121.

Visitation was Friday, March 25 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the Mass in the church.

Casket bearers were Steve Graham, Scott Graham, Justin Graham, Dr. Andrew Windsperger, Kris Davis, Charlie Poppler, Gary Shopek and Corey Winkler.

Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
