Henry Aslakson, age 80, of Delano passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Starbuck, MN to Clara and Ingvald Aslakson. He graduated from Starbuck High School in 1949, and served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Henry married Beverly Evjen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Starbuck, MN in 1955. They had three children, and lived on a farm in Delano for 44 years. He farmed and worked as a 49’er for Nodland and GL Construction for 36 years.
Henry is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Blaine (Claudia Finneman) Aslakson; daughter, Desiree (Brad) vanSytzama; son in law, Steve Freese; grandchildren, Siressa (Justin) Sremba, Derek (Maggie) Aslakson, Ashley (Andrew) Brown, Chelsea Freese, Garrett Freese, Austin vanSytzama, Carson vanSytzama; great-grandson, Ryder Sremba; sister, Carol Bronson; brother-in-law, Art Falk; sister-in-law, Geneveie Aslakson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Freese; his parents; brothers, Francis, Myron, and Donald; and sister, Sylvia Falk.
Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Our Father’s Lutheran Church, Highway 55, Rockford. A memorial service took place Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at Our Father’s Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were by Cremation Society of Minnesota.
