Marcille I. Brelje, age 82, of Norwood, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
She was born March 17, 1930, in Waconia Township, the daughter of Andrew and Pearl (Filbrandt) Stender. Marcille was baptized April 20, 1930, by Rev. Kramer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America; and confirmed April 2, 1944, by the same.
Marcille was united in marriage to Reuben Brelje June 2, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America.
Marcille loved life and was always willing to help other people when needed. She will be remembered for her smile and warm heart, and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Pearl Stender; and brothers-in-law Donald Smith and Philip Krumm.
Marcille is survived by her loving family; children Sharol (David) Ernst of Glencoe, Delton (Miriam) Brelje of Norwood Young America, Lendra (Michael) Tesch of Glencoe, Darron (Sheri) Brelje of St. Paul, Barton Brelje of Matamoras, PA, and Brian (Kelly) Brelje of Tampa, FL; grandchildren Torrey and Amy Ernst, Tristin and James Sprengeler, Janel Harper, Kristine Brelje, Amber Sievers, BraeLynn and Ryan Glander, Brandt and Amy Brelje, Brenden Tesch, Alana Kenyon, Ben Sweep, Spencer Brelje, Jasmine Brelje, Kylie Brelje, Isabella Brelje; and great-grandchildren Alexandra, Tyler, Parker, Preston, Anna, ScotLynn, Natalie, Carson, Cohen, Olivia, Karlie, Abigail, Jacob, Jack, Pete.
She is further survived by her sisters, Lorraine Smith of Monticello, and Pearl Krumm of Texas; sisters-in-law Leila Brelje of Norwood, and Margaret Buckentin of Hamburg; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Monday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Ronald Mathison officiating. There was visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment was at the First Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe.
Casket bearers were Sharol Ernst, Delton Brelje, Lendra Tesch, Darron Brelje, Barton Brelje, and Brian Brelje.
