Ann Marie Brickzen, age 55, of Shelbyville, KY, formerly of Lester Prairie, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, with family at her side.
She was born Oct. 16, 1956, in Minneapolis, the daughter of the late Arthur H. Schwichtenberg and Marian Frances Marx Schwichtenberg.
Ann Marie was a graduate of Lester Prairie High School. It was her passion for horses at a young age that led her on the road to Kentucky, the Saddlebred Capital of the World, where she had been a resident since 1992.
Ann Marie’s successful show horse career resulted in seven world championships from 1991-2012. She was a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association and the United States Equestrian Federation.
She was also a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church in Louisville, KY.
Ann Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joel A. Schwichtenberg.
She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Faith Chanchal and Carmen Victoria Brickzen of Shelbyville; a sister, Linda Schwichtenberg of Minnesota; Thomas J. Schwichtenberg (Jean) and their daughter, Kristin of Hawaii; and many other loving extended family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Ann Marie’s life took place Friday, Aug. 31 at noon at Middletown United Methodist Church in Kentucky.
The arrangements were handled by Pearson Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243.
