Robert Eugene Drake, age 85, a lifelong resident of the Buffalo area, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at his home, surrounded by family and friends; his loving wife, Dorothy, his sister-in-law Caroline, a niece, Deb; his nephew, Greg; and best friend, Lynn.
Bob was loved by many and will be missed by all.
After completing his GED, Bob enlisted in the Air Force, where he attained the status of master sergeant, while serving in the Vietnam Conflict.
After receiving an honorable medical discharge, Bob came to Cokato, in 1979, and purchased the Troll Inn Bar. It was there that he met Dorothy, and May 2, 1981, they were married, settling in Buffalo.
Bob loved the out-of-doors, and when he could, you would find him fishing. The neighborhood kids remember Bob sitting in his garage watching them play in the street and always eager to offer a helping hand.
Funeral services took place Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Interment followed at Fort Snelling with full military honors.
Visitation was Monday, Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, and continued Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
