Arminia Rose (Giacomini) Emanuel, 90, of Waverly died peacefully at Cokato Manor in Cokato, Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012.
Arminia was born Feb. 12, 1921 of Italian immigrant parents, Augustino and Genoveffa Venier. She grew up in Keewatin. Arminia went to Duluth Beauty College and owned her shop for many years.
She moved from Duluth to Waverly after her children were grown. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was active in community and church affairs.
We will miss her ever-present smile, great faith and loving hugs.
Arminia was preceded in death by her husbands, Anibole Giacomini and John Emanuel; her son, Joseph Giacomini; daughter, Dolly Moy; brother, Dominic Venier; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Moy.
She is survived by sisters, Louisa (Eugene) Amoe and Mary Ann (Dick) Panek; sisters-in-law, Shirley Venier and Rose Ann Marceau; son-in-law, Jim Moy; daughter-in-law, Terry Giacomini; step children, John, David, and Steve Emanuel, and Mary Ann Waldvogel; grandchildren, Marty Moy, Alan (Misty) Moy, Jeff (Kim) Giacomini, Bob (Amber) Giacomini, Jennifer (Patrick) Fisher; 10 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian burial for Arminia Emanuel took place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Concelebrants were Father Kenneth O’Hotto and Father Timothy Cloutier.
A visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15 at the church.
Casketbearers were Jeff Giacomini, Bob Giacomini, Marty Moy, Alan Moy, Mike Amoe, and Steve Emanuel.
