Sharon Lou Emon, age 67, of Buffalo, accepted her place in Heaven Tuesday, Feb, 28, 2012, with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 9, 1944, in Redwood Falls. Sharon grew up in a small farming community in central Minnesota, and graduated from Cokato High School in 1962.
Sharon married David Lawrence Emon April 16, 1979, and together, they raised three children.
She spent her final working years by achieving her dream of opening “Julia’s Legacy” and caring for Ladies with Memory Loss in her home.
Sharon’s interests included her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, gardening, reading, antiquing, rescuing dogs, enjoying time at the lake, and do-it-yourself projects, including endless makeovers on every room in the house.
She was a testament of courage, hope, strength, and faith to her family in her long fight with cancer. Those who were touched by Sharon understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile brought much joy to her family. She loved to show God’s love by serving others and will be greatly missed.
Sharon is survived by her husband, David; her children, Julie Kay Keele, April Cox (Fred Cox), and Randy Emon (Lisa Smith); her grandchildren, Crystal Kay Reynolds (Josh Reynolds), Lucas Littell, Riley Hartman, Cali Annis, Kaden Cox, Braeden Cox, and Elaina Cox; and one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Kay Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Louella Bottomley and Lawrence (Larry) and Geraldine (Geri) Emon; and many rescue dogs who greeted her at Heaven’s gate.
A celebration of Sharon’s life took place Friday, March 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
