Dorothy C. Entinger, age 78, of Winsted, passed away peacefully Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Winsted, the daughter of Martin and Katherine (Helmbrecht) Kieser.
Dorothy was joined in holy marriage to Fred M. “Fritz” Entinger Sept. 27, 1952, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six sons.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She was, first and foremost, a mother, and gave her faith and love to six children for 30 years while she was at home with them on the family farm. She also enjoyed camping every summer holiday with many members of her large extended family.
Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Holy Trinity CCW, St. Anne’s Society, and was a co-chair for the Holy Trinity Prayer Network.
A homemaker for many years, Dorothy also cleaned homes for a variety of families in Winsted and in the Cities. She was proud to help out other families, and often told stories about how she enjoyed their children. She also worked at the canning factory for Green Giant for a short time.
Dorothy truly enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, playing cards, and going to garage sales. She also enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
She served as a volunteer for many years at St. Mary’s Nursing Home.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Calvin (Elizabeth) of Maple Grove, Ronald (Carol) of Chanhassen, Michael (Cynthia Ann) of Mound, Daniel (Cynthia) of Silver Lake, and John (Colleen) of Waverly; grandchildren Nicholas (fiancée Sarah Heim), Matthew, Jillian, Ashley, Madison, Kristyn (David) Lacina, Melisa, Jason, Nathan (Monica), Jeremy, Timothy, Stephanie (Alex Brandt), Morgan, Wyatt, and Nicole; and great-grandchildren Hailey, Rebecca and David.
She is further survived by her siblings, George (Helen) Kieser, Leonard (Margaret) Kieser, Martha Rohling, Alfred Kieser, Joe (Janice) Kieser, Donald (MaryAnne) Kieser, and Jerry (Debbie) Kieser; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gary Entinger; and a sister, Mary Entinger.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, May 4 at 11 a.m. with Father Tony Hesse and Father Eugene Brown as concelebrants. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, May 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home, with a CCW/St. Anne’s Rosary at 4 p.m., and parish prayers at 8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Carey Kieser, Paul Kieser, Matt Kieser, Tom Kieser, Steve Rohling, and LeRoy Entinger.
