Rose Fiecke Obituary – 4/21/2012


Rose Fiecke, age 87, of rural Winsted, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 21, 2012, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born March 4, 1925, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of John and Agnes Sterner Heigl.

Rose made a Solemn Communion at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1943.

Rose and Alphonse Fiecke were joined in holy marriage May 9, 1953, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with five children.

Rose and Alphonse engaged in dairy farming for many years south of Winsted. Prior to being married, Rose was employed as a secretary.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, and playing cards and bingo; and had a great sense of humor.

A lifelong, faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Rose also belonged to the St. Anne’s Society, CCW, and was a former financial secretary of Catholic Aid Council 204.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Alphonse Fiecke; children Marie (Mike) Cummings of Winsted, Paul (Veronica) Fiecke of Norwood/Young America, John Fiecke of Toledo, WA, Mark (Cindy) Fiecke of Winsted, and Jane (Dane) Dye of Hopkins; grandchildren Chris and Alecia Cummings; Shannon, Dustin, Timothy and Andrew Fiecke; Toni Fiecke; Kelly (Alex) Land, Benjamin and Mitchel Fiecke; Tiffany (Matthew) Sower and Amanda Aguilar; and Drusilla and Meleah Dye; great-grandchildren Alina; Mason, Logan and Waylon; Brielle; Hannah, Michael and Meghan; and Andrew; and many other relatives and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; and by an infant child.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, April 26 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Hesse and Father Eugene Brown as the concelebrants. There was private interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with recitation of a St. Anne’s Rosary at 4 p.m.; and parish prayers at 8 p.m. Visitation continued Thursday morning, April 26 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Chris Cummings, Dustin Fiecke, Timothy Fiecke, Andrew Fiecke, Matthew Sower, and Jeff Wright.
