Almeda Frederick, age 102, of Howard Lake, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.
She was one of 12 children born to Christian and Katherine (Johnson) Rasmussen, receiving her education in the Blooming Prairie and Clarissa school districts.
Almeda was united in marriage to Romane Joseph Frederick April 16, 1932, and was later baptized Jan. 5, 1936. To this union there was born two children: Yvonne (Frederick) Sundberg of Buffalo, and Duane Ronald Frederick, deceased.
To her family and those around her, Almeda always appeared active, whether it be playing games, walking, or just enjoying some of her favorite TV shows.
During her working years, she was employed as a banquet waitress at the Curtis and Leamington hotels, where she took pride in working with the public.
Almeda is survived by her daughter, Yvonne; three grandchildren, Chantelle Sundberg of Buffalo, Faye (Daniel) Eckland of California, and Charles Joseph Frederick of Delano; and one great grandchild, Jory Sundberg of Buffalo.
Services took place Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. from the Peterson Funeral Chapel in Buffalo, with burial in Crystal Lake. There was public viewing and visitation one hour prior to the service.
