Ron W. Haag, age 44, of Mayer, died Saturday May 5, 2012, at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska.
He was born Feb. 6, 1968, in Litchfield, the son of Martin and Lucille (Schmidt) Haag. Ron was baptized in Litchfield, and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.
Ron was united in marriage to Jenny Jax Sept. 16, 1989, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound by Father Mike Tegeder.
A family man, Ron’s life was centered around his wife and children. He enjoyed being an assistant coach for his son’s basketball team, and would take the girls out ice skating whenever he had the chance. Going on vacation with his family brought much joy to Ron’s life. He also loved to go shopping for anything the family needed, and more.
Ron served on the city council in Mayer for four years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Jax; mother Lucille Haag; brother Greg Haag; and niece Hannah Jax.
Ron is survived by his loving family: wife Jenny; son Bryan Haag; daughters Madison Haag, and Grace Haag; father Martin Haag of Watertown; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Joann Jax of Mayer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Julie and Brian Kelpe of Lake Lillian, Jason and Ashley Jax of Shakopee, and Leah Elston of Waukesha, WI; aunts; uncles, cousins; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial Mass took place Thursday May 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius, with Father Thomas Balluff as celebrant of the Mass. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
There was a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
