Robert Gael Hagglund, age 63, of Lake George, NY, formerly of Dassel, died Friday, Sept. 7 at his home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1949, in Hennepin County, and raised in Dassel. He was confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel; and attended Dassel Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1967.
Bob then attended Hamline University and was active in the St. Paul Drum and Bugle Corp. His love of music was evident throughout his life, and he was involved in many bands over the years, taking him to Atlantic City, Philadelphia, and abroad.
He was a resident of Lake George, NY for many years.
Bob is survived by his step-mother, June Hagglund of Pine River; step-siblings, Janet (Cotton) McCalla of Apache Junction, AZ, Michael Lundeen (Catherine Christian) of Northfield, and Joanie (Brad) Swanson of Pine River; cousins Mary Nelson (Donald Graves), Sonny (Nony) Nelson, Barbara Hagglund, Lynn Heglund; Lisa Heglund, Neil (Bonnie) Heglund; G. Theodore (LouAnn) Hughes, and J. Peter (Elizabeth) Hughes II; many second cousins; step-nephews, Jeffrey (Colleen) McCalla, Ben (Sarah) Lundeen, and Javen (Oby Ballinger) Swanson; and step-nieces, Jodi (David) Bollman, Nell (Jay) Thill, Briana Swanson, and Lindsey (Brian) Bessingpas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Elaine Hagglund; uncles Lawrence Hagglund, Lyndon Nelson, John P. Hughes, and Norris Heglund; and aunts- Dorothy Hagglund, Margaret Nelson, Clarice Hughes, and Kay Heglund.
A celebration of Robert’s life took place Saturday, Sept. 22, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with Pastor John Peterson presiding.
