Isadore S. Helmbrecht, age 86, of Hollywood Township, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Mora, the son of Ludwig and Theresa Leminger Helmbrecht. Isadore was the second youngest of 15 children.
He honorably served his country in the US Army.
Isadore S. Helmbrecht and Irene T. Kieser were joined in holy marriage May 20, 1952, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Isadore and Irene engaged in dairy farming for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, and farming, on the farm where he lived for over fifty years.
Isadore was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Wayne) Wilson; and a son, Eugene Helmbrecht ,all of Mayer; four grandchildren: Kenny Wilson and Sarah Wilson, Melissa Helmbrecht and Michael Helmbrecht; two great-grandchildren Audriana Wilson and Danyella Bruner; three brothers, Andy Helmbrecht of Mora, Ed Helmbrecht of Ogilvie, and Ben Helmbrecht of Brooklyn Park; and other relatives and friends.
Isadore was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Aug. 2, 2001; a son, Roger Helmbrecht; and by brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, May 18 at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Hesse as the celebrant. Interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
Casket bearers were Wayne Wilson, Sarah Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Michael Helmbrecht, David Entinger, Bob Entinger, Stephanie Kottke, and John Lachermeier.
