Arthur L. Hokenson Jr., age 88, of Marshfield, WI, formerly of Howard Lake, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Minneapolis, to Arthur Sr. and Myrtle (Van Krevelan) Hokenson Sr.
Arthur lived in Minneapolis until his family moved to Howard Lake, where he graduated from high school and participated in basketball and baseball.
He was united in marriage to Audrey Borgersrode Feb. 18, 1950, at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Watertown. They were blessed with two sons, Lee and Bruce.
After answering an ad in the Hoards Dairyman, Arthur and Audrey purchased a farm in Marshfield, WI, where they resided.
Arthur enjoyed the area and tried to be a good neighbor. He wa a member of First Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed traveling, especially on farm tours.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Audrey; two sons, Lee and Bruce; two grandchildren, Christopher and Kayla; surrogate grandchildren Tonia and Justin; a brother, Mark (Barbara) of North Babylon, Long Island, NY; and nieces and nephews in Minnesota, Texas, New York, and Arizona.
As per Arthur’s wishes, there was no service. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin assisted the family.
