Dillon Lee Hurley, age 22, of Hutchinson, formerly of Dassel, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 19, 1990, in Hutchinson, the son of Michael and Connie (Dimond) Hurley.
Dillon grew up in the Dassel area and graduated from the Dassel Cokato High School in 2008.
He was confirmed at the Evangelical Covenant Church.
After graduating from high school, Dillon joined the United States Army Reserve and served in Kuwait for a year. He was still an active member of the US Army Reserve.
Upon return from active service, Dillon had been employed by Olson Chain and Cable in Cokato.
He loved to spend time motor biking, paintballing, target shooting, and just hanging out. Most of all, Dillon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Connie Hurley of Dassel; sisters Larissa (Josh) Sullivan, and Ashley Hurley. both of Dassel; a nephew, Mason Lee Sullivan; paternal grandparents John and Jane Hurley of Mitchell, SD; maternal grandparent, Robert Marohl of Dassel; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dillon was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Fay Hurley; maternal grandmother Nora Marohl; maternal great-grandmother Edith Myllyla; and one paternal aunt, Cheryl Sharp.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel with the Rev. Keith Carlson officiating. There was a time to gather with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
The Johnson funeral Home in Dassel handled the memorial arrangements.
