Roger F. Kallenbach, 75

Roger F. Kallenbach, age 75, of Winsted, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.

He was born April 9, 1936, in Winsted, the son of Fred W. and Margaret C. Sherman Kallenbach.

Roger graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1954. He later attended business school in Minneapolis.

As a young man, Roger played on Winsted’s town baseball team as a center fielder.

He honorably served his country in the US Army.

Roger was joined in holy marriage with Carol A. Lacina June 8, 1968, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Roger was formerly employed as a supervisor at Chrysler Corporation’s Parts Distribution Center, and later, at Dura Supreme.

He was friendly and enjoyed jokes. Roger loved his family!

He was a lifelong, faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, and also belonged to American Legion Post 407 in Winsted.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol A. Kallenbach; children Craig (Kate) Kallenbach of Fairmont, Rob (Joy) Kallenbach of Independence, and Dawn Kallenbach (Jeff Wisuri) of St. Louis Park; grandchildren Jacob and Nathan Kallenbach, Jennifer, Kayla and Kyle Kallenbach, and Sophia Wisuri; mother-in-law Mabel Lacina; sisters-in-law Valeria Ashcraft and Gail Kallenbach; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Al and Judy Lacina; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. and Margaret C. Kallenbach; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Kallenbach and Marcel “Punky” Kallenbach; and by his father-in-law, Marvin Lacina.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Hesse as the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery with military rites.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with an American Legion ritual at 7 p.m., and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.; and continued Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Craig Kallenbach, Rob Kallenbach, Leanne Hertzog, Julie Stapel, David Lacina, and Dan Kappel.
