Alice G. Lueck, age 85, of Glencoe, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Glencoe Long Term Care Center, after a long fight with cancer.
She was born June 14, 1926, in Hale Township, McLeod County, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Kaczmarek) Wendolek.
Alice married Wilbert C. Lueck June 10, 1961, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. The couple farmed in Winsted Township until 2003, and remained living on the farm until Wilbert passed away Dec. 30, 2003. Alice then moved to Glencoe to be near her family in 2004.
A faithful member Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, and former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Alice belonged to Holy Trinity’s CCW, Catholic Aid Council 204, and to The St. Anne’s Society, of which she was the treasurer for 18 years.
Alice enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Ardolf of Glencoe; special nephew and niece, Tim (Karla) Ardolf and LeAnn (Jerry) Clark; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Wendolek; brother and sister-in-law Albin and Elizabeth (Quast) Wendolek; brother-in-law Bernie Ardolf; nephews Chris Wendolek, Larry Wendolek and Darril Roufs; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ben and Julia Lueck; sister-in-law Mary Ann Fasching; brothers-in-law Don Roufs, Russ Haugen, and John Lueck; and great-niece Jennifer Wendolek.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, May 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Anthony Stubeda as the celebrant. Interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A St. Anne’s Society Rosary was recited at 4 p.m., and a prayer service wase held at 5:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Marley Clark, Oakley Clark, Tessa Ardolf, Gracie Ardolf, Garret Ardolf, and Aaron Wendolek.
