Elmerine R. Nowak, age 82, of Silver Lake, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the Cokato Manor.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with Father Tony Stubeda and Father Patrick Okonkwo as the concelebrants. Reader for the Mass was Carrie Chap. Cameron Chap and Stephanie Hoffmann were Mass servers. Gift bearers were Holly Wanous, Merisa Stifter, and Heidi Tellers. Interment followed at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, June 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, with a Rosary Society rosary, and CCW and parish prayers at 5 p.m.; and will continue Monday, one hour prior to Mass at the funeral home.
Casket bearers are Jeff Nowak, Joshua Schultz, Aaron Schultz, Adam Nowak, Nathan Nowak, and Ryan Hoffmann.

Elmerine was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Perham, the daughter of Adalbert and Isabelle Fasching Brose. She was raised in Winsted, and graduated from Holy Trinity High School.
Elmerine and Felix W. Nowak were joined in holy marriage Oct. 14, 1950, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with five children.
A homemaker and farm wife, Elmerine enjoyed gardening, baking, spending time with family, and traveling.
She was very devoted to the Catholic faith. A faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Elmerine also belonged to the Rosary Society and Holy Family CCW.
Elmerine will be remembered as a very kind and friendly person.
She is survived by her loving children, Donna Schultz and Bruce (Doreen) Nowak, all of Silver Lake, Harvey (Joyce) Nowak of Howard Lake, Melvin (Cindy) Nowak of Cokato, and Beverly (Tom) Hoffmann of Silver Lake; grandchildren Carrie (Tom) Chap, Josh (Stephanie) Schultz, Merisa (Jon) Stifter, Aaron (Jen) Schultz, Jeff (Jenny) Nowak, Holly (Mike) Wanous, Heidi (Adam) Tellers, Adam (fiancé Ashley) Nowak, Nathan Nowak, Stephanie Hoffmann, and Ryan Hoffmann; step grandchild Nicole Hoffmann; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Chap, Cameron Chap, Tess Chap, Grace Schultz, Jackson Stifter, Landon Stifter, Ashton Schultz, Liam Schultz, Eliot Schultz, Caleb Schultz, Katie Nowak, Ella Nowak, Miranda Nowak, William Wanous, Olivia Wanous, Lily Tellers and Evie Tellers.
Elmerine is further survived by sisters Sylvia Horstmann of Winsted, and Charmaine (Don) Hartmann of Osakis; brothers Michael Brose of Winsted, and Ralph (Joan) Brose of Cass Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Louie and Yvonne Nowak of Silver Lake, and Clarence and Margie Nowak of Neosho, MO; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adalbert and Isabelle (Fasching) Brose; her husband, Felix Nowak; a brother, Stephen Brose; son-in-law Gordon Schultz; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cletus Horstmann and Dorothy Brose.
