Loren Albert Olson, age 56, of Cokato, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at his home.
A memorial service will take place at a later date at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Cokato, with the Pastor Al Jones officiating. Interment will be at the Swan Lake Cemetery, rural Dassel.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is handling the arrangements.
Loren was born Jan. 22, 1956, in Hillsboro, OR, the son of Willard Albert and Mary Louise (Hundley) Olson. He grew up in the Hillsboro area and attended school at Midhigh in Hillsboro.
Loren was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith.
When he was 31, Loren suffered a brain aneurysm and, after his recovery, moved to the Cokato area to be close to his family.
He was an adventurous person.
Loren had worked at the Grand Canyon, the ARC in Oregon, and for numerous years, at the Norseman, and later Daniel’s restaurant in Cokato.
He loved to listen to music, and watch DVDs. Loren collected antique posters, was an avid Beatles fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his siblings, Donna (Paul Prestidge) Portillo of Buffalo, Betty Olson, and Billy Olson, both of Cokato; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Mary.
