Sue (Ursula) Perra, age 87, of Waverly, died Monday, June 4, 2012.
She was born Dec. 13, 1924, to Albina and Joseph Antil, the oldest of three girls, with five brothers.
As a young, single girl she worked at the Maple Lake drug store, and waitressed at Ogle’s Café in Waverly.
She met Ed Perra of Waverly, and they were married Sept. 25, 1946. Their nearly 66 years of marriage was spent working the Perra family farm and raising a family of six.
Sue was a hard worker and took great pride in working the land and tending the dairy herd side-by-side with Ed.
She loved people and took great interest in anyone she came in contact with. Sue enjoyed trips to town, meeting friends at the grocery store, getting together with special girlfriends, impromptu coffee dates, and helping neighbors; and she was always ready to laugh and have fun. Her energy was endless, and her smile was infectious.
Most of all, she loved her family and the time she spent with her children and their families especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and a loyal friend, her passing leaves a void that can only be filled by countless memories of her kindness and generous nature.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Vic, Jimmy, Art, Jerry, and Frank; and a daughter, Elaine Luhman.
She is survived by her devoted spouse, Ed; sons Tom, Jerry, and Frank (Zoila); daughters Lu Ann (Al), and Mary (Francis); grandchildren Joe, Mark (Jessica), Sarah, Jessica (Jason), Dylan, Drake, Belle, Fred, Izzy, Jennifer, and Dana (Jeff); 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Bea, Tess, and Larry; and a special friend of the family, Doug Braden.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly Saturday, June 9 at 11 a.m., with visitation for one hour prior to the Mass.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family. Online condolences may be made to www.chilsonfuneralhome.com.
