Lois L. Plocher, age 80, of Mayer, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
She was born July 11, 1932, in Watertown, the daughter of Fred and Olga (Berwald) Gongoll. Lois was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer.
A loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, Lois enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and loved to cook, fish, crochet, and speak German. She was a hard worker and also enjoyed listening to old tyme music.
Lois was preceded in death by her son, Clarke Plocher; father and mother, Fred and Olga Gongoll; brothers Harold, Earl and David Gongoll; stepfather George Moore; sisters-in-law Evelyn Gongoll, and Joan Gongoll; and brother-in-law Leonard Hoese.
She is survived by her loving family, husband Gordon; daughters Pamela Plocher of Tyler, TX, and Phyllis (Carl) Groebner of Clements; son Mark Plocher of Delano; grandchildren Angela Groebner, David and Lori Groebner, Beth and Ryan Heifner, Robert and Amanda Groebner, Taylor Odom, Justin Plocher, and Cody Plocher; great-grandchildren Toriana and Dana Groebner, Kennedy, Alexandra, and Abigail Groebner, Noah, Alec, and Gavin Heifner, and Gracie, Tyler, and Dylan Groebner; a sister, Frances Hoese of Glencoe; stepsister Mary Moore of Delano; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service took place Friday, Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Lucas Woodford officiating. There was a gathering of family and friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment was at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.
