Jerry Lee Putnam, age 72, of Dassel and formerly of Big Lake, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Hutchinson Area Health Care.
There will be a celebration of Jerry’s life Tuesday, July 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at McPete’s, 590 Humboldt Drive East, Big Lake.
Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Jerry Lee was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Monticello, to Lester and Gladys Putnam.
He served in the US Army.
Jerry lived in Big Lake most of his life, and retired from Hoffman Engineering. He had made his home in Dassel for the past six years.
He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed sports; he also loved being with his grandchildren.
A talented wood carver, Jerry enjoyed this hobby in his retirement.
He is survived by his three children, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Putnam of Dassel, Robert Lee Putnam of Big Lake, and LeeAnn (Joseph) Chounard of Monticello; five grandchildren, Katrina, Kayla, Kasondra, Courtney, and Hannah; a sister, Kay Swanson of Cambridge; and his former wife, Penny Putnam.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Gladys Putnam; a brother, Gene Putnam; and three sisters, Mertis Guppy, Beverly Kasper, and Donna Fredrickson.
