Arnold G. Schimmel Obituary – 5/14/2012


Arnold Gustav Schimmel, age 93, of Howard Lake, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Home in Howard Lake.

He was born Oct. 28, 1918, in rural Buffalo, Wright County, the son of William F. Schimmel and his wife, Martha (nee Zitzloff).

Arnold became a child of God through baptism Dec 15, 1918, by the Rev. C. J. Schrader. He was confirmed Aug. 7, 1932, by the Rev. W. C. Nickels.

Arnold farmed with his brother, Albert, until he retired.

His parents and siblings preceded him in death.

He is survived by a nephew, Franklin (Cynthia) Hohl; grand nieces, grand nephews; and friends.

Funeral services took place Thursday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, rural Buffalo, with the Rev. Stephen A. Smith officiating. The organist was Karen Davis. Interment followed at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Franklin Hohl, Brad Hohl, Donald Schmidt, Donald Munsterteiger, Joel Hahnke, and Sheila Hlavka.
