Karen Schrotberger, age 62, of Cokato, formerly of Litchfield, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, June 21, 2012, after a long battle with multiple illnesses.
Karen graduated from Litchfield High School in 1969, and the Litchfield School of Nursing in 1970.
She worked in each the Dassel, Cokato and Howard Lake nursing homes for almost 35 combined years.
Karen enjoyed getting out and going to coffee with her friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and the children in her neighborhood. She had an amazing ability to remember birthdays and other important dates, and always had treats and presents ready for those special days.
Karen will always be remembered as a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters Sara Stanley, and Jennifer Schrotberger and her fiancé, Michael Hoskins; grandchildren Hailey, Devon, Conner, and Logan; her mother, Bertha Moser; and siblings Jerome Kalkbrenner, David Kalkbrenner, Betty Syverson, Marie Solem, and Matt Moser.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Walter Kalkbrenner.
A memorial service took place Saturday, June 23 at 10 a.m. at St John’s Catholic Education Center.
Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato handled the arrangements.
