Dora R. Semar Obituary – 6/23/2012


Dora R. Semar, age 90, of Winsted, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at St. Mary’s Care Center.

She was born July 26, 1921, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Earl F. and Rosella A. Schlagel Seymour.

Dora was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Winsted.

She was formerly employed as a pharmacy clerk at Leo Schafer, Herb Roufs, and Ken Kremer pharmacies, all in Winsted.

Dora was an active card player and enjoyed socializing with relatives, customers, and friends.

She is survived by a sister, Luella Seymour (Taylor); nephews Gary Seymour, and Gregg (Kim) Seymour; niece Marilee Seymour (Boese) and husband Rick; and other relatives and friends.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Earl F. and Rosella A. (Schlagel) Seymour; a brother, Sylvester “Cy” Seymour; sister-in-law Elizabeth Seymour (Kappel); niece-in-law Joy Seymour; and brother-in-law Waite (Red) Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Private inurnment at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday, June 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, and continued Tuesday from 8 to 9:45 am. at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Gary Seymour, Gregg Seymour, Matthew Seymour, Gary Campbell, Ken Kremer, and Jim Holmbeck.
