Ilean was born May 31, 1937, in Kellogg, MN, to Clarence and Veldonna (Roschen) Johnson.

She was united in marriage to Dan Stellpflug Aug. 27, 1960, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg.

Ilean had many jobs throughout the years (farm wife, bus driver, waitress, house cleaner), but she cherished her roles of wife, mother, and grandmother the most.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and spent even more time telling everyone else about her grandchildren.

An excellent cook, Ilean made the best lefse, sugar cookies, and “bird’s nest” cake you could imagine. She always welcomed people into her home, and had the ability to get to know anyone she was introduced to. She made sure no one ever went away from the table hungry.

Ilean’s hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, watching game shows, and doing find-a-words. Fall was her favorite time of year – she knew it was football season; i.e. time to cheer on the Green Bay Packers to victory.

If there was a card game going on, you knew you would find Ilean there. Even if no game was going on, she would whip out the two decks of cards she always carried in her purse and get a game started.

Ilean was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, Oct. 31, 1992; siblings Norvan, Steven, and Donna Jean; and nephews Jimmie (godson), and Kyle.

She is survived by her children, Sandy (Jeff) Loomis, Ruth (Jon) Peterson, and Bryan (Gerolene) Stellpflug; six grandchildren Morgan Stellpflug, Sara Loomis, Autumn and Adam Stellpflug, and Madeline and Danielle Peterson; siblings Rosie (George) Lamey, Louise (Harold “Shorty”) Johnson, Marilyn (Chuck) Hansen, and Phyllis (Don) Bittner; brother-in-law Everett Johnson; sister-in-law Jeannine (Dave) Flies; and many nephews and nieces, as well as a very special friend of the family, Mona Loughan.
