Rita Clarabelle Margaret Sullivan, age 82, of Howard Lake, formerly of Annandale, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center of Howard Lake.
She was born May 28, 1929, at Belle Plaine, to Arthur and Hazel (Anderson) Fideldy. Rita grew up in Belle Plaine.
Rita married Samuel Eldon Sullivan Oct. 4, 1958, in Minneapolis. At the time, Samuel was in the US Air Force, and the couple made their home in Omaha.
They moved to Montrose after Air Force duty, then to the farm in Annandale, where they stayed for some time.
Rita has also lived in Minneapolis. She entered the Annandale Care Center in 2005, and, a year and a half ago, the Good Samaritan Center of Howard Lake.
Rita enjoyed John Wayne, country music, and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her children, James (Colleen) of Mound, Wanda (Ron) Stewart of Kimball, and Tom (Janelle) of Howard Lake; grandchildren Daniel Stewart, and Anthony, Tanya, Cody, and Nathan Sullivan; great-grandchildren Angelique, Andrew, and Madelyn; sisters Cheryl Johnson, Patricia Jurovich, and Jeanette Hemme; and a brother, Robert.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hazel; sisters Lois Theis and Betty Lazerte; and a grandson, Joseph Stewart.
A memorial service took place Saturday, April 14 at 4 p.m. at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
