Kenneth Joseph Tobeck, age 79, of Watertown, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
He was born March 19, 1933, in Wheaton, to John and Clara (Yezek) Tobeck.
Ken served in the Army, being honorably discharged Jan. 18, 1957.
He was united in marriage to Germaine Elizabeth Roerig Oct. 18, 1958, in Browns Valley.
Ken was a longtime phone repairman for Contel, and eventually Frontier phone companies.
He and Germaine were longtime members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
Ken was proud of the fact that his children’s friends thought of him and called him “Daddy.”
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Tobeck; and siblings Mark, August, Vincent, Frederick, Norman, Bernice, and Katherine “Kitty.”
He is survived by his wife, Germaine; children Clare (Tom) Groninga, Natalie (Bill) Boisvert, and Lorne Tobeck; grandchildren Katie (Kevin) Massey, Elizabeth Groninga, Hunter Boisvert, and Sophie Boisvert; great-grandchildren Kyle Groninga and Samantha Lyke; a sister, Veronica Olsen; and a daughter-in-heart Robi (Kevin) Schmidt.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, followed by interment with military honors in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home, with a 3:30 p.m. rosary service, and 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continued Thursday one hour prior to Mass in the church.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
