Bruce A. Venske, age 54, of Lester Prairie, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Watertown, the son of Marvin and Cordella (Henning) Venske. Bruce was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.
Bruce worked at Nilfisk Advance for 30 years
A collector of anything and everything, you could find him at many auctions throughout the area. Bruce would scrap iron and copper, and he loved helping people out when they needed a hand. In his spare time, Bruce treasured his time on the lake, fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Cordella Venske; and a brother, in infancy.
Bruce is survived by his loving family: siblings and spouses Richard and Marlane Venske of Arlington, Roger and Roberta Venske, Dennis and Marlene Venske, Douglas Venske, Sharon Venske, all of Winsted, Kenneth and Ginger Venske of Chaska, and Karen and Donald Kuhnau of Montrose; nephews and nieces Steven and Trish Venske, David Venske, Beth Venske, Kelsey Venske, Evin Venske, Gary Voight, Sue and Todd Neumann, and Tammy and Chad Ittel; and seven great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service took place Friday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, with the Rev. Adam Westrich officiating. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Mayer.
Casket bearers were Steven Venske, Todd Neumann, David Venske, Mike Dertinger, Stephen Rademacher, Marty Zitzloff, and Kelsey Venske.
Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and continued Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
