Carol A. Wiggins Obituary – 1/5/2012


Carol A. (Keefe) Wiggins, age 68, of Watertown, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, after suffering injuries from an accident.

She was born Oct. 22, 1943, in Minneapolis, the daughter of John Donald “J.D.” and Dolores (Sexton) Keefe.

Carol was kind to all she met and very giving to those in need. The highlight of her life was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was known for her quick wit, humor, and wisdom. She delighted in turning something ordinary into something extraordinary.

Carol enjoyed old classic movies, flower gardening, and anything Irish. She was passionate about Christmas and family traditions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John “J.D.” and Dolores Keefe; and her sisters, Patricia Babatz and Beverly Keefe.

Carol is survived by her children, Monica (Eddie) Fortwengler of Watertown, and Maria (Glenn) Cooper of Apple Valley; grandchildren Natasha, Jackson and Avery; sisters Connie Keefe, Vicki (Doug) Fasching, and Mary (Jeff) Kemna; brothers Don Keefe, Ron Keefe and Mark (Diana “D.D.”) Keefe; brother-in-law Jim Babatz, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Carol’s life took place Saturday, Jan. 14 at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, followed by interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

The Chilson Funeral Home of Winsted assisted the family with arrangements.
