Bernie was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Delano, to John and Kathryn (Motzko) Russek.
A lifelong resident of Delano, Bernie was one of four siblings, and the wife of Lloyd Yantes.
Besides working the family farm for many years, Bernie enjoyed a number of years working at the Wayzata Country Club, and was known as the “donut lady” at the bakery in Watertown.
Her hobbies included crocheting, baking, word find books, flowers, the many birds she attracted to her yard, and attending Mass at St. Joseph’s Church. But her true joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandson.
Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her son, Lloyd Jr.; a granddaughter, Sherry; a grandson, Matthew; a brother, Clarence Russek; and sisters Irene Dederich and Marie Russek.
She is survived by her children, James (Jeanne) Yantes of Mora, Peter (Eileen) Yantes of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon (Jerry) Fritz, and John Yantes, all of Delano; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and her brother, Jack (Renata) Russek of Delano.
