Edna Sophie Anderle, age 88, of Glencoe, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Glencoe Long Term Care Center.
She was born Dec. 17, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Sophie (Ondracek) Ellis.
Edna and Paul Joseph Anderle were married June 25, 1945, at St. George Catholic Church. They were able to share 67 years of marriage, and they were blessed with six children.
Edna enjoyed tending her garden of fruits and vegetables and canning the produce to provide for her family’s needs. She loved baking breads, kolaches, and apple strudels.
Edna and Paul put their children first and provided a Catholic elementary school education for all of them.
Edna will be remembered for her hard work, love for her family, and the love of her Catholic faith.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; children Paul Anderle Jr., Marlene (Donald) Havelka, all of Glencoe, Betty (Roger) Steele of Spicer, Judy (Ralph) Anderson of Willmar, Mary (Randy) Nass of Dassel, and Nancy (Tony) Humlicek of Silver Lake; grandchildren Julie, Mike, Lisa, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Megan, Kirsten, Isaac and Paul; step-grandchildren Nancy and Jason; great-grandchildren Brittany, Chelsea, Ashley, Trevor, and Braden; step great-grandchildren McKenize and Blaine; brothers Emil (Bernice) Ellis, and Edwin Ellis of Glencoe; and other relatives and friends.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margaret Tupa; and an infant sister, Doris.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with Father Tony Stubeda as the celebrant. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Silver Lake.
Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 27 at Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake from 4 to 7 p.m., with a CCW rosary at 5 p.m., and parish prayers at 6:45 p.m.
Honorary casket bearers were Kirsten Anderson, Paul Nass, and Isaac Nass.
Casket bearers were Julie Havelka, Mike Havelka, Lisa Riebe, Jennifer Forcier, Jeffrey Havelka, Megan Anderson, Tim Ellis, and Randy Ellis.
