Mary Ellen Arneson, 75

Mary Ellen Arneson, age 75, of Winsted, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Heron Lake, the daughter of John and Cleo Aeiling Penticoff.

Mary Ellen and Robert Arneson were joined in marriage Oct. 20, 1956, in Stewart. God blessed their marriage with three children. They have lived in Litchfield and in Hutchinson.

Mary Ellen was formerly employed as a assembler for Tonka Toys.

She loved music, especially country music; visiting the sanctuary in Hutchinson, her coffee, and spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mary Ellen was also a volunteer at the VFW and the Legion.

She is survived by her sons, Robert ( Michelle) Arneson of Belle Plaine, and Steve Arneson of Waverly; grandchildren Christina Posusta, Bobby Hayden and fiancée Alison Gregg, Melanie (Alex) Henning, Andy Arneson and Robby Arneson; and great-grandchildren Ariana Hayden, Justin Maryott, Gavin Henning and Lillianne Henning.

Mary Ellen is further survived by her brothers, Dennis Penticoff of Eagan, Harlow (Joan) Penticoff of Isle, Dwight Penticoff (friend Janice), and Virgil Penticoff, all of Eagan; sisters Frances (Joseph) Kemmerer of Woodbury, Betty (Bruce) Keske of Brownton, and Charlene Rannow of Hutchinson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cleo Penticoff; her husband, Robert Arneson Sr.; a daughter, Debra Arneson; daughter-in-law Renae Arneson; a brother, Delbert Penticoff; and by two sisters, Helen and Marilyn Penticoff.

Funeral services took place Thursday, May 23 at noon at the chapel of St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted with Father Eugene Brown officiating. There was visitation from 11 a.m. until noon at the chapel.

Interment was Friday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Andrew Arneson, Robert Arneson, Alex Henning, Robert Hayden, Justin Maryott, and Jeff Thibert.
