Paul Arthur Arnleend, age 92, of Dassel, died at the Hutchinson Area Health Care Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Lake Jennie Covenant Church in rural Dassel. The Rev. Doug Pierce will officiate with interment in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Paul Arthur Arnleend, the son of Arthur and Selma (Settergren) Arnleend, was born Jan. 20, 1921, in the Lake Jennie area. He grew up in the Lake Jennie area and attended district school for his education.
Paul was baptized and confirmed at the Lake Jennie Covenant Church in rural Dassel.
He loved to farm and kept close to the land his entire life. He enjoyed telling stories, hunting, fishing, attending auctions, and flea markets in Monticello and Annandale. Over the years, Paul had traveled to visit relatives all over the United States.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Cynthia Rettman of Dassel, Daniel (Joleen) Rettman of Litchfield, and David Rettman of Minnetonka, two great grandchildren, Samantha and Isabella Rettman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paulette, parents, Arthur and Selma, siblings, Glenn, Floyd, Marian Anderson, Fern Olson Ruby Gulso Pauline Galarneau and an infant son.
